Almost everyday there's something in the tabloids about an "ex-con" on parole having committed another crime.  Those of us on parole and doing well know that this is only part of the story.  New York Prisoners -- Parole Spotlight tells the other side of the story -- the success stories of men on parole.  Anyone on parole should be concerned about negative portrayals in the media of people on parole.  It is imperative that we have the courage to tell our stories; otherwise, other people will tell them, and if we rely on the mainstream media, you can bet it will be negative since "news by its very definition is bad," at least according to anchorman Dan Rather.
 
So, we need to support this website, to spotlight good news about people on parole.  This might even help people in prison trying to make parole, since people will see that there is another face to parole.
